In this conversation we chat with Christine Kelly, a single mother of four who shares her experiences of raising her kids alone over 30 years ago. She talks about her unique upbringing, where she was raised by her grandparents and believed her mother was her sister until she got married. This unusual childhood helped shape her strong and resilient personality when raising her 4 children alone.
The landscape of single parenting has changed so much over the years and Christine gives an insight into what it was like raising her children on her own not knowing another single mum within her community. She shares how being consistent and simply “getting on with things” was how she managed to raise successful, independent children on her own. Who a few years ago were able to retire Christine to say thank you for all that she did as a single mother for them. Thankyou for joining us Christine and sharing your mothering journey.
