Judges 3 - Othniel, Ehud, and Shamgar

Judges 3 gives the pattern of mercy three different narrative forms. Othniel is empowered by the Spirit, Ehud brings deliverance through a disturbing act of violence, and Shamgar receives only a brief notice. The Lord raises help in each case. The chapter also searches what happens after help arrives: a people can gain rest while remaining vulnerable to the same divided allegiance.
