This review discusses the advancements in geroscience and precision geromedicine, two emerging fields aimed at understanding and managing human aging. The article outlines the hallmarks of aging, which are the molecular, cellular, and supracellular mechanisms that lead to biological aging, and introduces the concepts of pro-aging genes and anti-aging genes, which can accelerate or delay the aging process. The article further explores the use of multi-omics technologies as biomarkers of aging, with the goal of providing a foundation for individualized treatment, and proposes strategies for preventing and treating age-related diseases by targeting aging itself. It ultimately paints a future outlook for precision geromedicine, emphasizing its potential for early intervention in healthy individuals to optimize health and extend healthy lifespan.
