Jan Liefhebber – Dark Perception III (Vinyl Techno Set) - Pegasus 303 Mix 114

This week’s episode comes in hot from the Netherlands with an all-vinyl techno set — and dare I say, a sprinkle of acid house? Jan Liefhebber, founder of Highland Beats and longtime champion of raw, hypnotic, no-nonsense techno, takes the reins. “Dark Perception III” delivers exactly what it promises: moody, gritty grooves straight from the shadows. From the first beat, it locks into thick analog rhythms, rolling basslines, and dense textures — like stepping into a smoke-filled warehouse at 3 AM.

🔥 That crackling you hear? That’s fried chicken. Don’t ask — just vibe. If you know, you know.

This one took me back to those classic underground LA nights in the ’90s. For my fellow Angelenos — remember Nectar? Empire? Parliament? What about Blowfish at Kelbo’s Hawaiian Restaurant on Pico — the one with the giant bean bag and live acid jazz on Fridays? There was even a house and techno night on Saturdays — no cover if you showed up early for dinner.

That scene was raw, intimate, and beautifully weird — and this mix taps right into that same spirit.

Whether you lived through it or wish you had, this one’s for the heads. No gimmicks. No fluff. Just proper techno — as it was meant to be heard.

🌀 Featured Tracks

🎵 Random XS – “Errant” Label: Shipwrec 032 A driving techno track laced with acid undertones. Hypnotic, raw, and restrained — this one’s built for heads-down sessions and dark warehouse moments.

🎵 Jeff Mills – “Keeping Of The Kept” Label: Axis Records • AXIS 022 A minimalist masterclass from the Wizard himself. Mechanical, rhythmic, and perfectly stripped back — part of Mills’ Metropolis EP, this track captures cinematic tension with Detroit’s industrial soul.

🎵 Delta Funktionen – “A New Planet” Label: Shipwrec Special Series A space-bound techno-electro hybrid. Broken beats, simmering 303s, and flickers of machine funk — it’s Warp-era energy meets deep orbit groove. A headphone trip and a floor-burner.
