Born in Brooklyn and raised in New Jersey by Puerto Rican parents, David grew up in a baseball loving family alongside his two brothers. After playing baseball at Rutgers University, he was drafted by the Kansas City Royals following his junior year and went on to build a 13-year Major League Baseball career across six different teams.

David reflects on the discipline, relationships, and life lessons he gained throughout his years in professional baseball and how those experiences continued to shape him after retiring from the game in 2015. He also shares about his three years working on the pregame and postgame broadcasts for the Chicago Cubs and the transition into a new chapter of life beyond the field.

Today, David’s greatest joy is being a father and watching his 16 year old son grow. He opens up about the blessing of fatherhood and the importance of being present for the people who matter most.

David also shares how his faith has become a meaningful part of his life through his involvement with Evergreen Church, where he hosts worship and community group nights in his home. For David, bringing people together, growing closer to God, and creating genuine community have become an important part of his purpose.
