Shanda Sharer was a 12-year-old girl who was murdered on January 11, 1992, in Madison County, Indiana. The case drew widespread attention due to its brutality and the young age of the perpetrators.
Melinda Loveless, 16, and her friends, Laurie Tackett, 17, Toni Lawrence, 15, and Hope Rippey, 15, drove Shanda to a remote area, where she was subjected to physical and sexual abuse before being set on fire and left to die.
Five young lives collided on one horrific night that ended in tragedy. A love triangle that led to a crime of jealousy.
