Stop Motion Animator: Sarah de Gaudemar

In this episode, Christina sits down with stop motion animator Sarah de Gaudemar.

Sarah grew up in the Midwest, where the entertainment industry felt impossibly far away. She found stop motion in college and broke into the industry on MTV's Celebrity Deathmatch in the mid-90s. She's since animated for some of the most iconic stop motion features and series of the past three decades, including Coraline, Anomalisa, and Wendell & Wild, and now runs her own studio creating animation for clients like Disney, Kaiser Permanente, and hotels.com.

Across the conversation, she shares her process, why handmade craft still has a soul that AI can't replicate, and the moment during COVID when her own kids became her animation reference.
