Airline Earnings: DAL & UAL Eat the Lion’s Share

Nicolas Owens covers airline earnings and is watching ticket prices and demand into the back half of the year. Airlines avoided the crisis the market was worried about in April and generally did fine this quarter. He likes the changes Southwest Airlines (LUV) are making to their baggage and boarding policies, saying they were “leaving money on the table.” He thinks Delta (DAL) and United (UAL) “absorb most of the profit” of the sector overall.
