AMAT's Role in A.I. and Why Software Stocks Might Be Better Positioned

Logan Gilland joins Market On Close to discuss the post-earnings weakness in Applied Materials (AMAT). He says the company's long-term outlook might be part of the reason why there's a slowdown in share prices. Logan points to a crowded field in the semiconductor industry, and says AMAT could be victim of not "hitting a grand slam" on elevated earnings expectations. He looks at software stocks in the A.I. realm such as ServiceNow (NOW) and Snowflake (SNOW) which could provide better value than hardware stocks.
