Cohen: Gold Full of Speculative Money, Looking to Small and Mid Caps for Opportunity

Doug Cohen is constructive on markets – with an asterisk. He says that any cautionary AI capex guidance in 3Q earnings season would be a meaningful negative surprise. He looks to small caps for opportunity but discusses avoiding the Russell 2000 and picking carefully for quality. “I personally would rather go with companies with strong balance sheets.” Doug also talks gold, which he is “still a fan of conceptually” but warns that there’s a lot of speculative money there right now.
