Dollar General (DG) Earnings Preview: ‘Great Defensive Play’ or ‘Expensive’?

Kristin Bentz and John Buckingham preview Dollar General (DG) earnings. Kristin calls it a “great defensive play for the consumer,” and likes “what they’re doing with SNAP and Instacart.” She also says it will do well within any economic downturn. John, on the other hand, sees a problem with valuation: it’s “expensive” considering its recent performance. “I’m just not convinced Dollar General is going to be able to maintain margins” because of tariffs, he adds. They also comment on the upcoming earnings for Dollar Tree (DLTR) and Five Below (FIVE).
