Harburg: U.S. Will be Cautious on Trade in Case China Dumps Bonds

“Overall, things are getting better than they were,” argues Ben Harburg on tariffs and trade. He thinks Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent will be the one leading negotiations and that the U.S. will be a little cautious because of China’s outsized position in U.S. Treasuries. He looks at opportunities in Chinese stocks, from retail to food & beverage to consumer electronics.
