How Fast Can Travel Return to Normal After Shutdown Ends?

Sean Cudahy and Tom Essaye discuss how the government shutdown has impacted airlines. Sean says almost 25,000 flights have been cancelled since the beginning of the shutdown, with 2,000 today alone. The end “can’t come soon enough,” he says. They discuss how quickly travel can return to normal after the shutdown lifts. Tom looks at the best-positioned airlines, and thinks Southwest (LUV) is winning on the fun factor, but says United (UAL) and Delta (DAL) are the best in breed.
