ISM Manufacturing PMI Hits ‘Lowest Level Since Financial Crisis’

Mark Vitner and Susan Spence discuss May ISM Manufacturing PMI missing expectations. “It’s the lowest level we’ve seen since the financial crisis,” says Mark, but sees some resilience in manufacturing. “The uncertainty around the tariff whiplash is not good for business,” emphasizes Susan, and it would take months to turn around even if trade issues were resolved tomorrow. “The inventories for customers…is low,” she adds.
