"Jittery" Markets Pricing In Hawkish Rate Cut, VIX Uptick Into Announcement

Markets are pricing in a hawkish interest rate cut from the Fed, says Kevin Hincks. He notes a two point climb in the VIX since the week began as the leading metric signaling that move. However, if the FOMC leans dovish, Kevin believes markets will make a 180 degree turn and rally on the session. Kevin adds that a move on interest rates will boost housing sentiment, noting a recent uptick in MBA mortgage applications.
