Market Catalysts to Watch in September

Keith Buchanan is looking for market catalysts as we come off a strong August into a traditionally lower September. He previews this week’s economic data and discusses the Fed’s potential rate cut decision this month. He notes that the market is baking in a cut, and he’s going to focus on the rhetoric from Powell’s statement, as well as any data on the labor market. On the other hand, 2Q earnings were “remarkably strong,” and Keith is impressed by companies’ “resilience.”
