Powell's Rate Commentary Will be "Fascinating," Sector Leadership in Question

Charles Schwab's Mike Townsend wishes he could "be a fly on the wall" at the FOMC meeting. With uncertainty on who would vote on rates until Monday night, he points to staggering dynamics between Fed governors leading to what he believes will be "fascinating" interest rate commentary from Fed chair Jerome Powell. Joe Mazzola adds that small caps will benefit the most from a rate cut with 40% of the Russell 2000 holding unprofitable companies. Looking at the latest retails sales report, Joe says sector leadership could shift in the coming months.
