What started as a down day due to mixed economic data ended with all major indices except the RUT closing in the green. Microsoft (MSFT) and Meta Platforms (META) ushered in more strength after hours when both companies posted notable earnings beats. The tech front shined throughout the trading day as well, with Western Digital (WDC) and Seagate (STX) trading among the SPX's top performers.
