Unusual Options Trades & Trends During Govt. Shutdown

Russell Rhoads looks at trends in the options market during the government shutdown. “We continue to see more block call buying than anything else out of institutions,” he says, despite the market being at record highs. He thinks that education and better tools are helping options grow because it allows retail investors to participate. Russell also highlights some unusual options trades he’s seeing.
