U.S. Labor Market Signaling 2 Fed Cuts in 2025?

Mark Vitner and John Lonski discuss the U.S. labor market after the latest weekly Jobless Claims. “There’s a very narrow set of industries that are adding jobs,” Mark notes, and thinks we could start to see cracks. John covers layoffs in the public and private sectors. Mark thinks that there will be another two rate cuts this year, while John thinks the Fed could cut in June if the economy continues to slow down.
