Luke Tipple is joined by Dr. Craig O’Connell, who is featured in the 2022 Shark Week documentary, Monsters of the Cape. The marine biologist is innovating and testing new technology that are deterring Great Whites from humans. Dr. O’Connell, who lives in Montauk, New York, talks about how abundant the shark population has become in recent years and why repellents are even more needed given the high likelihood of negative shark encounters. They also discuss the effects of music and sound buoys on sharks.
