33. In The Lap of the Gods (1974)

Join brothers Stephen & Paul Nicholson as they continue their song-by-song journey through the Queen catalogue, turning their attention to “In The Lap of the Gods” from Queen’s classic 1974 album Sheer Heart Attack.

Is this an overlooked Queen gem, a solid album track, or something that belongs further down the pecking order? Stephen and Paul each give the song their verdict by placing it firmly into their Top, Middle or Lower Tier of Queen.

Along the way, they dig into the story behind the song, share fascinating facts about Queen, the band members and the recording, and explore what makes “In The Lap of the Gods” such an intriguing part of the Sheer Heart Attack album.

And, of course, there’s the weekly Queen Quiz Question — but who will know the answer?
