I'll Fly Like An Eagle

**Lyrics Below** “Fly Like an Eagle”is an uplifting Country Rock/Southern-rock song with a strong 1970s roots-rock character and a touch of the spacious, melodic Southern sound associated with the Marshall Tucker Band. Driving electric rhythm guitars, wide acoustic guitars, loud active congas, melodic bass, natural drums, rocking gospel-boogie piano, Hammond organ, and tight male harmonies give the track its muscular foundation, while expressive electric-guitar responses and **prominent flute lines** add a distinctive melodic color. The song centers on crying out to the Lord for a new beginning and being lifted by His mercy and grace. The recurring image of being **borne on eagle’s wings** expresses renewal, freedom, and confidence in God and His Word. ### Lyrics **Verse 1** Listen to the cry of my heart I need a brand new start There's no reason that I should stay When Your grace could take me away **Chorus** I want to fly with You Borne on eagle's wings You make my heart to dance Praises now I bring I'll fly like an eagle in the clear blue sky Higher and higher, Lord, Your love will always rise **Verse 2** I'm desperate and I need You now Everlasting gospel down in my heart There's no way out of this place Only by Your mercy and by Your grace **Chorus** I want to fly with You Borne on eagle's wings You make my heart to dance Praises now I bring I'll fly like an eagle in the clear blue sky Higher and higher, Lord, Your love will always rise **Verse 3** There's an answer and it's only You It's getting in the Word and I know it's true I'm borne on eagle's wings Only kind of place where my heart will sing I'm borne on eagle's wings Only kind of place where my heart will sing **Chorus** I want to fly with You Borne on eagle's wings You make my heart to dance Praises now I bring I'll fly like an eagle in the clear blue sky Higher and higher, Lord, Your love will always rise I want to fly with You Borne on eagle's wings You make my heart to dance Praises now I bring I'll fly like an eagle in the clear blue sky Higher and higher, Lord, Your love will always rise **Outro** I want to fly with You Borne on eagle's wings You make my heart to dance Praises now I bring © 2012 Shiloh Worship Music
