One Thing

**Lyrics Below —** “One Thing” is inspired primarily by Psalms 27 and 23. The song expresses a deep desire to remain in the presence of God, to gaze upon His beauty, to seek Him wholeheartedly, and to live without fear knowing that He is with us. The arrangement blends a warm early-1970s folk-soul sound with Rhodes electric piano, Hammond organ, wide rhythm guitars, melodic bass, Memphis-style horns, congas, shakers, and hand percussion. At the heart of the song is the message of Psalm 27: one thing my heart desires — to dwell in the house of the Lord and to see His goodness in the land of the living. ### Verse 1 The Lord is my light And my salvation Of whom shall I fear? Of whom shall I be afraid? ### Pre-Chorus One thing my heart desires I want to dwell in Your house forever To gaze upon Your beauty, O Lord And to seek You in Your temple ### Chorus Though an army surrounds me (God is with me) My heart will not fear And I will see the goodness of the Lord In the land of the living ### Pre-Chorus One thing my heart desires I want to dwell in Your house forever To gaze upon Your beauty, O Lord And to seek You in Your temple ### Bridge The Lord is my shepherd I shall not want Whom shall I fear?
