Righteous Man's Blues

Lyrics Below “A Righteous Man’s Blues” is a soulful Gospel-blues song built on a driving Southern blues shuffle with an early-1970s Latin-rock influence. Warm sustained electric-guitar lines answer the vocals with expressive bends and melodic blues-Latin phrasing, while rolling gospel piano and Hammond B3 bring a rich church-rooted foundation. A melodic bass line, natural drums, congas, timbales, cowbell, and hand percussion give the track a deep rhythmic pulse. Female gospel-soul backing vocals answer the lead in call-and-response and expand into fuller harmonies during the chorus. The song’s message is one of perseverance, faith, and complete trust in Jesus through confusion, adversity, spiritual opposition, and life’s storms. [Verse 1] Everywhere I’m looking, Lord, I just can’t find my way Everywhere I’m looking, Lord, I just can’t find my way So I’m gonna put my trust in every word You say [Verse 2] Storm clouds are brewing, heavy rain is gonna fall Oh, storm clouds are brewing, heavy rain is gonna fall Still I’m gonna trust You, Lord, through it all [Verse 3] The enemy surrounds me, and I’m feeling lost Oh, the enemy surrounds me, and I’m feeling lost I’m gonna put my trust in Jesus and the power of the cross [Verse 4] Blessed is the man who walks in righteousness Oh, blessed is the man who walks in righteousness He’s gonna see the goodness of the Lord The goodness of the Lord!
