You Have Given Me Your Spirit

Lyrics Below. “You Have Given Me Your Spirit " is a heartfelt expression of love, devotion, and complete surrender to Jesus Christ. Written in 1996, the song reflects the transforming presence of the Holy Spirit, the grace and mercy of God, and the desire to offer one's entire life as a living sacrifice to Him. Inspired by Romans 12:1, the lyrics express a longing to dwell in God's holy presence, allowing His truth and light to fill every part of our lives. At the heart of the song is a simple but profound declaration of love for Jesus, the Holy One of Israel and the Lamb of God. The repeated refrain, “'Cause You're the only one I love,” becomes an intimate expression of adoration and wholehearted devotion. Musically, the song draws from the warm, melodic traditions of 1970s West Coast acoustic folk-rock, featuring intricate fingerpicked acoustic guitars, flowing grand piano, Hammond organ, melodic bass, relaxed drums, congas, and rich three-part vocal harmonies. The organic arrangement supports the sincerity of the lyrics, allowing the message of love and surrender to remain at the center.
