Abated Mass of Flesh is a brutal slam metal band from Unionville Tennessee. The band began as a Christian Metal solo project by founded guitarist Zack Plunkett and eventually evolved into the non-religious slam metal band fronted by brother and vocalist Matthew Plunkett, Topher Stanfield (drums) and Grant Alan (bass). The band has been playing a string of live shows all around Middle Tennessee supporting their new record "Rebirthing the Vile" which came out in March of 2025. The record is a crushing and powerful sludge metal experience with pinging snare drum sounds, guttural vocals and memorable riffs that are sure to make you bang your head or mosh with reckless abandon.
