Buddhist meditation is thousands of years old and has profoundly changed the lives of countless practitioners, but it is only very recently (in the last 4 years or so) have neuroscientists reached a point of understanding why humans experience so much discontentment with life and why and how meditation is the solution to this problem. We explore this topic from the perspective of Zen Buddhist practice.
