I Think Rey Has This Canon Power and it Makes Sense - Star Wars Explained

In Star Wars Episode 7 The Force Awakens, Rey touched Luke Skywalker's lightsaber and immediately had visions of past events. Events where we heard Vader's breathing, Cloud City from Empire Strikes Back, Kylo Ren, Luke and R2, and even heard Yoda and Obi-Wan speak to her (wish we heard Anakin). How did Rey see these things? Is this a power or some magic? I believe it's a power that's in canon called psychometry. It's something Quinlan Vos has the ability to do as well. What do you think?
