Why Darth Vader and Anakin sound so DIFFERENT - Star Wars Explained

In Star Wars many have said Darth Vader and Anakin Skywalker sound very different, for obvious reasons aside, yes, they do. What is the reason for this in-world?

I feel Vader's voice as is, sounds perfect. As George said, he couldn't have found anyone better.
