Who Was Melchizedek? Hebrews 7 and Psalm 110:4 | Straight Bible Q&A

Who was Melchizedek? Hebrews 7 and Psalm 110:4: "king of Salem, priest of the most high God," without father or mother, and Jesus a priest "after the order of Melchizedek."
Straight Bible Q&A, hosted by Matt Hepner and TopLobsta.

Matt and Top answer 21 listener questions; the longest Bible answer is on Melchizedek. They read Hebrews 7: "this Melchisedec, king of Salem, priest of the most high God, who met Abraham returning from the slaughter of the kings." He was "without father, without mother, without descent," Abraham paid him tithes before the law, and Levi "payed tithes in Abraham." Psalm 110:4 says "Thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melchizedek." Man, angel or Christ?

Other questions: defending the divinity of Jesus (John 1), whether God still speaks through dreams, voting and Romans 13:1-2, missionaries and Acts 1:8, marriage and a wedding ceremony, taking up your cross (Matthew 10:32-39), inherited crystals and the stones of the breastplate, taxes and Caesar (Matthew 22:21), and the ephah and flying scroll in Zechariah 5.

Also: why demon possession fills the Gospels (Mark 1:21-27, "what new doctrine is this?"), fellowship with a gay family member (1 Corinthians 5:9-13), whether a third temple has to be built, why Simon and Saul got new names, "a spirit hath not flesh and bones" (Luke 24:39), Babylon and the West, Israel in Romans 11:25-28, dating a non-Christian, and the Comma Johanneum (1 John 5:7).
