What is man, that thou art mindful of him? Hebrews 2:5-9 quotes Psalm 8: God put the world to come under man, not angels, and "we see Jesus."

Otis walks through Hebrews 2:5-9 (read on air from the NASB) alongside Psalm 8 and Genesis 1-3. God did not put the world to come in subjection to angels; He gave dominion to man. Adam lost that dominion through sin, and Jesus, who took on flesh and blood, tasted death for every man and restores what Adam lost.
Along the way: Jew and Gentile made one new man (Ephesians 2:12-19), why a third of the angels rebelled, "had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory" (1 Corinthians 2:7-8), whether Psalm 8:5 means lower than God or lower than the angels, "what is man?" in Job 7:17 and Psalm 144:3-4, "we see not yet all things put under him" (Hebrews 2:8), why there is evil if God is in charge, and God's order in creation from Genesis 1:31 through the curse (Genesis 3:17-19) to reconciliation in Christ (Colossians 1:19-20).
