After a successful career as a physical therapist, CEO and Creative Director, Zankhna Parekh decided to pursue her first love - fashion. Zankhna Designs was established in 2012 to cater to strong, powerful, trailblazing women who still wanted to be effortlessly stylish all while putting cracks in the glass ceiling. She felt there was a need in the luxury space for elegant, timeless clothing made of pure and rich fabrics, hand done embroideries that caters to such strong and elegant women.
Zankhna is a role model and inspiration for young women entrepreneurs everywhere. Her new label, Zaftan™ is a modern twist on the traditional Kaftans, carefully cut and styled to suit the fashion needs of generation x, y and Z, hence the name Zaftan™. Zankhna's designs have international flair, influenced by her three geographical upbringing and backgrounds.
Her designs have been featured and graced the covers of multiple magazines and print media. She has appeared on multiple TV and radio shows as well as on Celebrity Corner on the Dorothy on TV Show. She also serves as an on-camera talent for the website eHow.com, which has more than 100 million visitors every month. She served from 2008 to 2010 as a Glambassador and Style Council member for Glamour magazine and has had the opportunity to attend fashion shows and events around the country and all over the world.
Zankhna has been able to dress many celebrities both locally and internationally including recent clients such as Hollywood actress Rhoda Griffis, TIME Magazine's Athlete of 2019 and US women’s national soccer team player Jessica McDonald, and Grammy nominee Falguni Shah. Zankhna Designs is a socially conscious and pro-green company. We believe in giving back to our community, recycling unused fabrics, producing elegant and timeless clothing that is not disposable fashion hence decreasing our footprint on this earth, we never use products tested on animals, we follow ethical trade practices and ensure all employees receive fair wages.
