Manchester United were 2-0 up after twenty minutes against relegation-threatened Sevilla, with the Spanish side naming some first-choice players on the bench. It was a golden opportunity to finish off the tie.

That the game finished level was largely down to an uncomfortably familiar frailty, the inability to maintain control, but it could also have been worse had de Gea not (again) made some crucial saves.
