Today I got to have an extended conversation with Julie about #42 and #43 which arose after I popped on to talk about how AI is not something we should be afraid of. We are living and, for all we know, so is AI. The rules of living have not changed however we have not focused on the right rules of living for a long time. We have been taking short cuts so as not to have to struggle or feel the least bit uncomfortable. Now, as AI takes all the identities we have created and spits them back at us we are left looking at ourselves asking "Well then, Who am I?" Which we should have been asking all along. Drop your identity and pick up YOU!
#42 "Holding both Male and Female"
Tao gives birth to Universes.
Universes give birth to Planets.
Planets give birth to beings.
Beings give birth to everything else.
Tao is the great Mother
All else holds both Male and Female.
By all things embracing both
Harmony is achieved.
To feel alone is avoided by men
Yet that is where no identity resides.
The Master holds no identity
She embraces her aloneness,
Realizing when she is at one with herself
She is at one with all things.
#43 "Be Silent and Learn"
The flexible will outlast the ridged.
The gentle will outlast the hard.
Tao, which has no structure, has penetrated all
Even that which has no space to enter.
Through this I see that unforced action, and silence
are the only path to completeness.
Action, free of expectation and desire,
This is the lesson of the nature of things.
Listen to your nature, be silent and learn.
