General Motors EV-1

The GM EV-1 was the first electric car produced by a major auto company when it rolled off production lines in 1996. Even though the car gained a dedicated fan base (dedicated enough to produce unauthorized radio ads) and higher-than-expected demand from drivers, only a few thousand EV-1 cars were produced.
