The Animal's Voice - Why Are You Attacking Your Sister?, With Jennifer & Pele

What could make two cats who once adored each other suddenly become enemies almost overnight?

In this episode of The Animal’s Voice, we meet Jennifer from Hudson Valley, New York, and her two rescue cats, Pele and Kiki.

Pele and Kiki share an extraordinary beginning. Both were rescued from a brush fire and eventually found a safe and loving home with Jennifer and her husband.

For a long time, the two cats were best friends. They played together, enjoyed each other’s company, and seemed completely comfortable sharing their home.

Then something changed.

Almost overnight, Pele began attacking Kiki.

Jennifer is left with the question so many pet parents struggle with when an animal’s behavior suddenly changes:

Why?

Why would Pele turn on the cat she once considered her closest companion?

Did something happen between them? Is Pele afraid, jealous, protective, overwhelmed, or is there something entirely different going on beneath the behavior?

In this episode, Ditte connects telepathically with Pele to explore what changed from her perspective and what she wants Jennifer to understand about her relationship with Kiki.

What unfolds is a fascinating look at how differently we may interpret an animal’s behavior when we see only the action—not what the animal believes is happening underneath it.

Can Pele and Kiki find their way back to each other?
