This week, we are joined by Dr. Daniel Stulac, Visiting Assistant Professor in Old Testament at Duke Divinity School in Durham, NC. 

This interview jumps right into big topics with Daniel questioning the practicality of dating compositional layers in the book of Kings before moving to a rich discussion on the theological thrust of the book of Kings for the implied audience of the original authors. Many of my assumptions about the book of Kings (and Old Testament exegesis) are challenged and we even have a brief back and forth where I get teased for attending Candler School of Theology (a friendly ribbing between divinity schools).
