Welcome to "Re-establishing Fellowship," the latest episode of, 'The Bible Project daily Podcast'. In this episode, we explore the consequences of sin and its impact on our relationship with the Lord, focusing on Exodus 33:1-23.

Sin has far-reaching consequences, affecting not only us but also those around us. When we sin, it breaks fellowship with God, disrupting our intimate connection with Him. The story in Exodus 33 vividly illustrates the aftermath of the Israelites' worship of the golden calf in Exodus 32.

After the incident with the golden calf, God tells Moses to lead the people to the promised land, but He will not go with them. This marks a revision in God's original plan, where He intended to dwell among the Israelites in the tabernacle. However, due to their sin, God refuses to accompany them on their journey to Canaan. In this passage, we witness the stark contrast between the strained relationship of the Israelites with God and the close fellowship Moses enjoys. While the people lost their intimate connection with the Lord, Moses continues to commune with Him face to face, as a man speaks to his friend.

This passage reveals that sin disrupts fellowship with God but does not totally sever the relationship. The Israelites lost their intimate connection with the Lord, while Moses maintained it. Fellowship with God involves speaking to Him and receiving His truth, which is now conveyed through His Word.

As we conclude this episode, let us remember the words of Philippians 4:6-7: "Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus."

Thank you for joining us today, and may you seek to maintain a close relationship with the Lord, experiencing His peace and grace in your life.
