Welcome to "Building a Home For God," the latest episode of our podcast series. In this episode, we explore Exodus 38:21-31 and delve into the significance of the Tabernacle's construction and the costs associated with it. In the opening segment, we ponder the question of how much it would cost in today's money to build the Tabernacle, considering the value of materials such as gold, silver, bronze, wood, and linen. We discover that Moses, too, was interested in this question, as he concludes the blueprint of the Tabernacle by providing the price of everything.

Throughout the discussion, we draw spiritual insights from the construction of the Tabernacle. We learn that when God wants to accomplish something, He requires people and resources, both in terms of materials and finances. Just as the Israelites willingly gave their possessions for the construction, we are reminded of the importance of dedicating our possessions to the work of the Lord. Furthermore, we explore the idea that building a relationship with God also carries a cost, one of obedience and commitment to His commandments.

We conclude the episode by highlighting the lavishness with which God built His house and how it reflects His ability to provide abundantly for His people. While acknowledging that some churches may spend excessively on buildings, we emphasize the importance of investing in God's house while being responsible stewards of resources. Ultimately, we emphasize that while salvation is free, building a relationship with the Lord requires dedication and obedience, which in turn leads to experiencing the extras and benefits of knowing Him intimately.
