Cinema Beef Podcast #111 : Not Without My Pitcher’s Catcher

In the tradition of Ernie Banks, the beefers say “Let’s play two” with a double bill about heartbreak on and off the baseball diamond and the brotherhood between a pitcher and his catcher. First up, when a player on a minor league club gets some devastating news, it’s up to his friend to keep his secret and help give him a season to remember. Robert DeNiro and Michael Moriarty star in Bang The Drum Slowly. Then, Billy Chapel finds struggle, love and eventual release when he is forced to retire from his professional career with the Detroit Tigers and dodge one difficult blonde. Kevin Costner, Kelly Preston and John C.  Reilly star in the Sam Raimi directed For Love Of The Game.
