Jacy Reese is the co-founder of the Sentience Institute, alongside Kelly Witwicki, as well as its Research Director. This year he will release the book The End of Animal Farming: How Scientists, Entrepreneurs, and Activists Are Building An Animal-Free Food System, where he outlines an evidence-based roadmap to a humane, ethical, efficient food system where slaughterhouses are obsolete.
Here, we talk about veganism and animal welfare; effective altruism applied to veganism; the relation between veganism and environmentalism; absurd claims and lies spread by many vegan activities and that undermine the spreading of the message and give veganism a bad image; the science behind veganism; animal testing; animal farming; lab meat; the Sentience Institute; and Jacy’s upcoming book, The End of Animal Farming.
