Beastie Boys: From Brooklyn Hardcore Teens to Hip‑Hop Trailblazers

This episode dives into how the Beastie Boys began as a trio of teenage punks in Brooklyn’s Lower East Side, recorded raw demos on a battered four‑track, and later fused that energy with rap to become one of hip‑hop’s first crossover icons. It traces their DIY cassette culture, early club gigs, self‑run releases, and the pivotal moment they signed with Def Jam in 1986, revealing how their hybrid sound reshaped both punk and hip‑hop scenes.
