Canadian Punk: From D.O.A. to Propagandhi – Hardcore, DIY, and Political Roots

We trace the evolution of Canadian punk from the raw hardcore of Vancouver’s D.O.A., through Montreal’s early scenes, to Ottawa‑born Propagandhi’s activist grind. The episode unpacks the DIY infrastructure—labels, fanzines, venues, and touring networks—that sustained the scene despite limited resources, and explores how the bands’ politics shaped both sound and legacy.
