Cro‑Mags and the Birth of Metallic Hardcore

In this episode we trace Cro‑Mags’ debut "Age Of Quarrel"—how the band fused thrash‑metal riffage with New York hardcore’s speed and DIY ethic to create a new subgenre, how that sound spread through tape trade and underground shows, and how it seeded later metalcore acts. We look at the people behind the record, the independent label Profile, the early recording process, and the scene infrastructure that made the album a touchstone for aggressive punk‑metal hybrids.
