Discharge and the Birth of D‑Beat

This episode dives into the origins of the UK hardcore band Discharge, their 1982 EP *Realities of War*, and how their stripped‑down, relentless rhythms forged the global D‑beat style. We trace the band's DIY pressings and touring network, examine their influence on later metal and hardcore acts, and show how a single four‑beat pattern became a defining genre marker.
