Discharge and the Birth of the D‑Beat

This episode dives into how the UK band Discharge, formed in 1977, pioneered the relentless D‑beat rhythm that would become a staple of crust, grindcore, and post‑hardcore. We follow their early garage rehearsals, raw debut releases, DIY infrastructure, and the ripple effect this simple drum pattern had on punk and extreme metal worldwide.
