Electric Circus: Manchester’s Sunday Night Factory That Launched Post‑Punk

This episode explores how Manchester’s Electric Circus, a cramped club in Collyhurst, became the crucible for early post‑punk innovators such as The Fall and Warsaw (later Joy Division). It examines the club's all‑ages policy, low‑budget gigs, fanzine circulation, and DIY record network that forged an industrial sound and fed into the wider Manchester music identity. The story shows how a single venue’s nightly battles with police, limited resources, and creative desperation spurred an entire scene to move beyond its working‑class roots.
