How New York Hardcore Was Born: From Lower East Side to Chaos

This episode unpacks the birth of New York hardcore—tracking the raw venues that crammed punk into brick‑crusted rooms, the DIY networks that fueled underground distribution, and the bands (like Agnostic Front and Murphy’s Law) who forged a sound built on speed, aggression, and community defiance. It explores how police raids, fanzine chatter, and the city’s economic decay shaped a scene that would ripple across America and beyond.
