Johnny Thunders & the Heartbreakers: From NYC Dolls to the UK Anarchy Tour
Om avsnittet
The episode follows Johnny Thunders’ journey from his early days with the New York Dolls through the formation and sound of the Heartbreakers, culminating in their high‑energy tour of the United Kingdom’s Anarchy circuit. It examines how Thunders, Jerry Nolan and Walter Lure built a raw punk aesthetic on modest budgets, navigated DIY recording and distribution, and confronted the political climate of 1970s Britain while keeping true to the spirit of independent punk. The story shows how the band’s touring, record releases, and club performances helped shape an international network that sustained punk outside major‑label control.
